Quick Introduction to the Page Editor

The Page Editor is the main way to create and edit document content. Advanced users can also create content programmatically using the API but in these lessons, we will concentrate on using the Page Editor.

Page Editor elements (see screenshot above)

  1. Editor - showing a sequence of page sections with each section containing content fields. All content is displayed in unstyled format, so there is no difference in text in a heading field and text in a paragraph field. This is because the content is stored in the editor without styling and styling is added when the content is published to an endpoint such as web, print or app.

  2. Preview - To understand how the content looks when styled, there is a preview in the side panel on the right of the Editor. In the preview, you will see how various content types are displayed. The style used for the preview is determined by the Theme being applied to the document.

  3. Page Section - Pages are broken into sections to help with layout, styling, and content management. In this example, there is a header section and a general section for the main body of the page.

  4. Content Field - Content is added to pages in content fields. These fields contain content in its most basic form - text, list, table, image, or formula - the field selected for the content will determine the style applied. For example, a Heading 1 field will style the text it contains as a typical Heading 1.

  5. Preview button - Displays a preview of the page in the side panel.

  6. Warnings button - Displays a list of warnings associated with the page. Most warnings are a list of 'placeholder' content used in the page template that has not been changed to ‘real’ content.

  7. Style Guide button - Displays a Style Guide associated with the page template used to create the page. This button will not appear if no template is used or if a style guide has not been configured to work with the template.

  8. Metadata button - Displays the metadata associated with the page broken into Document- and Page-based metadata and read-only and custom metadata. Metadata values can be copied from this panel and added as dynamic content in the page editor.

  9. New Preview Tab button - Creates a new browser tab with a preview of the page being edited.

  10. Save button - Saves the current page. Also includes Exit, Revert and Save and Exit options.

    Kurze Einführung in den Seiteneditor

    Der Seiteneditor ist die Hauptmethode zum Erstellen und Bearbeiten von Dokumentinhalten. Fortgeschrittene Benutzer können Inhalte auch programmgesteuert über die API erstellen, aber in diesen Lektionen konzentrieren wir uns auf die Verwendung des Seiteneditors.

    1. Editor – zeigt eine Abfolge von Seitenabschnitten, wobei jeder Abschnitt Inhaltsfelder enthält. Der gesamte Inhalt wird in einem nicht formatierten Format angezeigt, sodass es keinen Unterschied zwischen dem Text in einem Überschriftenfeld und dem Text in einem Absatzfeld gibt. Dies liegt daran, dass der Inhalt im Editor ohne Formatierung gespeichert wird und die Formatierung hinzugefügt wird, wenn der Inhalt auf einem Endpunkt wie Web, Druck oder App veröffentlicht wird.

    2. Vorschau – Um zu sehen, wie der Inhalt nach dem Gestalten aussieht, gibt es eine Vorschau im Seitenbereich rechts neben dem Editor.     4. Inhaltsfeld – Inhalte werden in Inhaltsfeldern zu Seiten hinzugefügt. Diese Felder enthalten Inhalte in ihrer grundlegendsten Form – Text, Liste, Tabelle, Bild oder Formel. Das für den Inhalt ausgewählte Feld bestimmt den angewendeten Stil. Beispielsweise wird der Text in einem Feld der Überschrift 1 als typische Überschrift 1 formatiert.

    5. Vorschau-Schaltfläche – Zeigt eine Vorschau der Seite im Seitenbereich an.

    6. Schaltfläche „Warnungen“ – Zeigt eine Liste der mit der Seite verbundenen Warnungen an. Bei den meisten Warnungen handelt es sich um eine Liste von „Platzhalter“-Inhalten, die in der Seitenvorlage verwendet werden und nicht in „echte“ Inhalte geändert wurden.

    7. Schaltfläche „Style Guide“ – Zeigt einen Style Guide an, der mit der Seitenvorlage verknüpft ist, die zum Erstellen der Seite verwendet wurde. Diese Schaltfläche wird nicht angezeigt, wenn keine Vorlage verwendet wird oder wenn kein Style Guide für die Verwendung mit der Vorlage konfiguriert wurde.

    8. Metadaten-Schaltfläche – Zeigt die mit der Seite verknüpften Metadaten an, unterteilt in dokument- und seitenbasierte Metadaten sowie schreibgeschützte und benutzerdefinierte Metadaten. Metadatenwerte können aus diesem Bereich kopiert und als dynamische Inhalte im Seiteneditor hinzugefügt werden.

    9. Neue Schaltfläche „Vorschau“ – Erstellt eine neue Browser-Registerkarte mit einer Vorschau der bearbeiteten Seite.

    10. Schaltfläche „Speichern“ – Speichert die aktuelle Seite. Enthält auch die Optionen „Beenden“, „Zurücksetzen“ und „Speichern und beenden“.

    Introduction rapide à l'éditeur de pages

    L'éditeur de pages est le principal moyen de créer et de modifier le contenu d'un document. Les utilisateurs avancés peuvent également créer du contenu par programmation à l'aide de l'API, mais dans ces leçons, nous nous concentrerons sur l'utilisation de l'éditeur de pages.

    1. Éditeur - affichant une séquence de sections de pages, chaque section contenant des champs de contenu.     4. Champ de contenu - Le contenu est ajouté aux pages dans les champs de contenu. Ces champs contiennent du contenu sous sa forme la plus élémentaire - texte, liste, tableau, image ou formule - et le champ sélectionné pour le contenu détermine le style appliqué. Par exemple, un champ de type « Titre 1 » appliquera au texte qu'il contient le style d'un titre 1 typique.

    5. Bouton d'aperçu - Affiche un aperçu de la page dans le panneau latéral.

    6. Bouton Avertissements - Affiche une liste d'avertissements associés à la page. La plupart des avertissements sont une liste de contenu « placeholder » utilisé dans le modèle de page et qui n'a pas été modifié en contenu « réel ».

    7. Bouton Guide de style - Affiche un guide de style associé au modèle de page utilisé pour créer la page. Ce bouton n'apparaît pas si aucun modèle n'est utilisé ou si aucun guide de style n'a été configuré pour fonctionner avec le modèle.

    8. Bouton Métadonnées - Affiche les métadonnées associées à la page, réparties en métadonnées basées sur le document et sur la page et en métadonnées en lecture seule et personnalisées. Les valeurs des métadonnées peuvent être copiées à partir de ce panneau et ajoutées en tant que contenu dynamique dans l'éditeur de page.

    9. Bouton Nouvel onglet de prévisualisation - Crée un nouvel onglet de navigateur avec une prévisualisation de la page en cours de modification.

    10. Bouton Enregistrer - Enregistre la page en cours. Comprend également les options Quitter, Revenir et Enregistrer et quitter.
