Purpose of Ordering Index events
Overview
The main purpose of the index events is to improve the Procedure rule performance. Index events would help the procedure rules to find the calendar event rapidly. We can use the index events to execute the procedure rules based on a particular calendar event and time(before/after ) in relation to these index events.
With the help of index events, a pathway can execute specific rules before, or after an index event date or transition stages of the pathway.
How to change the order of the pathway?
Super Admin has the access to the index events. Log into the Super Admin dashboard and click on the “Index Events” tab under “Administration” as shown in the below image.
You can now see the column “Order” with the “up” and “down” arrow. This arrow will let the Index events move up or down based on the order the dashboard user want the index event to be shown while creating the pathway and assigning the pathway to the patients.
What happens when the ordering is not done?
The newly created index events will always be on the top of the list. If you do not order the index events and let the newly created Index event to be on top, then you can see the existing order while creating the pathway and assigning the pathway to the patients.
Refer the below image:
1st image represents the index events order that you see while creating the pathway. This is totally depending on the order that is present on the index event list page. The order is not currently changed. Test akd is the newly created index event here which is on the top of the list. Henceforth, this index event comes first in order while creating the pathways as shown in the first image below.
2nd image is the order present in the index event list page.
What happens on changing the order of the Index events?
Let’s change the order of Index events and see what happens. Let’s order the Patient-Pre Operation Index event on top of the list in the index event page under 'Administration” menu as shown in the 1st image below. The second image reflects the changes automatically in the procedure pathway using the below mentioned index events.
Where is this change reflecting for patients?
The changes made in the Index event list order will be reflected in calendar and timeline section of the app. You can view the upcoming dates of the index events in the calendar and timeline section of the app. The list is listed in the order set in the Index Event List page in Administration.
