2.1 Procedure Rules Creation

Depiction of Rule execution

Outline

This will give step-by-step instructions on how to create procedure rules successfully from the dashboard.

STEP 1: Navigate to Procedure Rules

Select the Procedure Pathway menu option from the menu panel on the left of the dashboard screen. Click on the drop-down menu next to the procedure pathway. Select Procedure rules.


 

STEP 2: Create a New Procedure Rule

Click on the down arrow next to the New button on the top right of the screen and choose New Procedure Rule from the drop-down menu.


 

STEP 3: Add details

In step 3 of the wizard, you add the key details for the Procedure Rule. Start by adding a Title for the rule using a consistent naming scheme such as R2.1 (R = reading, 2 = sequence number). Add a Description and select the Language used for the rule. Click the next arrow to proceed to step 4.

 


 

STEP 4: Add Content

In step 4 of the wizard, you add the action that would be executed by the rule. You can just select on the action at a time. After selecting the action you can add the details of the said action:

Feature a Document: You can select the document that can be added to the rule.

Feature a Video: You can select the video that can be added to the rule.

Feature a form: You can select the form that can be added to the rule.

Feature questionnaire: You can select the Questionnaire that can be added to the rule.

Feature a Task: You can select the task that can be added to the task.

Send a Message: You can select a message that can be added to the rule.

Send an Alert: You can select an alert that can be added to the rule.

Send a Reminder: You can select a reminder that can be added to the rule.

Transition to next stage: It lets the patient-user to transition through the next stages

After selecting the action press okay. Click the next arrow to proceed to step 5.

 

STEP 5: Add Individual

In this step, you decide on the audience for the rule. I.e. who would the rule affect. After you decide the audience for the rule, Click on the next arrow to proceed to step 5.


 

STEP 6: Add Timing

In this step, you decide on when the rule will be executed within a pathway. After you decide on the timing for the execution of the rule, click on the arrow button to transition to the next step.

On entering a stage- This rule would be executed on entering a stage.

Time after stage transition- This rule would be executed on time after stage transition. We should enter the time in days here and minus should be used to indicate days before the event.

Triggered by an index event- This will let you select the index event and the procedure rule will be executed when the selected index event occurs.

Time in relation to an index event- This will let you select the index event and the procedure rule is executed in relation to the selected index event.

When a form is submitted- This will let you choose the form and the procedure rule is executed when the selected form is submitted.


 

STEP 7: Review the created Procedure Rule

Here you will review the details of the rule. Press the back arrow if you want to change any details. Click on the Save button to create a new rule.

You can Preview the content attached by clicking the “Preview” button. This would display the content attached in the rule.

NOTE: If you click on “X” while creating the new rule, you would receive an alert asking “Are you sure you wish to exit?” with two options” Continue Wizard” and “Exit”.

You can click on “Exit” if you wish to close the progress of creating the new rule or click on “continue wizard” to continue with the progress.
